Soit ff la fonction définie sur ];+[\left]-\infty ;+\infty \right[ par f(x)=ln(1+ex)f\left(x\right)=\ln \left(1+e^{-x} \right).
On note Γ\Gamma sa courbe représentative dans un repère orthonormal (0;i;j)\left(0;\vec{i} ;\vec{j} \right).
Question 1

Déterminer les limites de la fonction ff en -\infty et en ++\infty .

Correction
 Calculons d’une part :\red{\text{ Calculons d'une part :}} limxln(1+ex)\lim\limits_{x\to -\infty } \ln \left(1+e^{-x} \right)
limxx=+\lim\limits_{x\to -\infty } -x=+\infty . On pose X=xX=-x, ainsi limX+eX=+\lim\limits_{X\to +\infty } e^{X} =+\infty .
Enfin, par composition limxex=+\lim\limits_{x\to -\infty } e^{-x} =+\infty
D'où : limx1+ex=+\lim\limits_{x\to -\infty } 1+e^{-x} =+\infty .
On pose X=1+exX=1+e^{-x} , ainsi limX+ln(X)=+\lim\limits_{X\to +\infty } \ln \left(X\right)=+\infty .
Par composition :
limxln(1+ex)=+\lim\limits_{x\to -\infty } \ln \left(1+e^{-x} \right)=+\infty

 Calculons d’autre part :\red{\text{ Calculons d'autre part :}} limx+ln(1+ex)\lim\limits_{x\to +\infty } \ln \left(1+e^{-x} \right)
limx+x=\lim\limits_{x\to +\infty } -x=-\infty . On pose X=xX=-x, ainsi limXeX=0\lim\limits_{X\to -\infty } e^{X} =0.
Enfin, par composition limx+ex=0\lim\limits_{x\to +\infty } e^{-x} =0
D'où limx+1+ex=1\lim\limits_{x\to +\infty } 1+e^{-x} =1.
On pose X=1+exX=1+e^{-x} , ainsi limX1ln(X)=0\lim\limits_{X\to 1} \ln \left(X\right)=0.
Par composition :
limx+ln(1+ex)=0\lim\limits_{x\to +\infty } \ln \left(1+e^{-x} \right)=0

On en déduit que la courbe admet une asymptote horizontale d'équation y=0y=0 au voisinage de ++\infty .
Question 2

Etudier le sens de variation de ff.

Correction
On reconnait la forme (ln(u))=uu\left(\ln \left(u\right)\right)^{'} =\frac{u'}{u}
On a u(x)=1+exu\left(x\right)=1+e^{-x} et u(x)=exu'\left(x\right)=-e^{-x}
Ainsi
f(x)=ex1+exf'\left(x\right)=\frac{-e^{-x} }{1+e^{-x} }

Question 3

Démontrer que pour tout nombre réel xx : f(x)=x+ln(ex+1)f\left(x\right)=-x+\ln \left(e^{x} +1 \right).

Correction
  • ln(a)+ln(b)=ln(a×b)\ln \left(a\right)+\ln \left(b\right)=\ln \left(a\times b\right)
  • 1ea=ea\frac{1}{e^{-a} } =e^{a}
  • ln(ea)=a\ln \left(e^{a} \right)=a
Pour tout nombre réel xx, on a f(x)=ln(1+ex)f\left(x\right)=\ln \left(1+e^{-x} \right).
On va factoriser l'expression 1+ex1+e^{-x} par exe^{-x} .
Il vient alors que :
1+ex=ex(1+exex)1+e^{-x} =e^{-x} \left(\frac{1+e^{-x} }{e^{-x} } \right)
1+ex=ex(1ex+exex)1+e^{-x} =e^{-x} \left(\frac{1}{e^{-x} } +\frac{e^{-x} }{e^{-x} } \right)
1+ex=ex(1ex+1)1+e^{-x} =e^{-x} \left(\frac{1}{e^{-x} } +1\right)
1+ex=ex(ex+1)1+e^{-x} =e^{-x} \left(e^{x} +1\right)
On substitue cela dans l'expression de ff.
D'où : f(x)=ln(1+ex)f(x)=ln(ex(ex+1))f(x)=ln(ex)+ln(ex+1)f\left(x\right)=\ln \left(1+e^{-x} \right)\Leftrightarrow f\left(x\right)=\ln \left(e^{-x} \left(e^{x} +1\right)\right)\Leftrightarrow f\left(x\right)=\ln \left(e^{-x} \right)+\ln \left(e^{x} +1 \right)
Comme f(x)=ln(ex)+ln(ex+1)f\left(x\right)=\ln \left(e^{-x} \right)+\ln \left(e^{x} +1 \right) alors
f(x)=x+ln(ex+1)f\left(x\right)=-x+\ln \left(e^{x} +1 \right)
